$1 Million Gift from Entergy Mississippi Helped Fund 2 Museums Project
In 2014, Entergy Mississippi celebrated its 90th birthday by making a $1 million gift to the 2 Mississippi Museums project. On Dec. 9, 2017, scores of people from across the state and nation attended the grand opening of the Museum of Mississippi History and the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum as part of the state’s bicentennial celebrations.
“These new museums honor Mississippi’s past and will help build a strong future for the state,” said Haley Fisackerly, president and CEO of Entergy Mississippi. “I’m extremely proud that we helped lead the way in the development of these important cultural and educational resources which will preserve our state’s rich history and share it with the world.
“Every visitor to the museums will cross the Entergy Mississippi Plaza as they enter the state-of-the-art, interactive facilities,” Fisackerly said. “The green space represents our commitment to the community, our shared history, and the hopes and dreams we have for our future with all Mississippians.”
